The following MIDI files are based mostly
on the melody-only scores of the out-of-print LES 150 PSAUMES by
Suzanne Haïk-Vantoura (Fondation Roi David, Paris). Some are based on
the accompanied scores VOLUMES 1-3 by Suzanne Haïk-Vantoura
(Editions Choudens, Paris). Two at this writing (Psalms 121 and 122) are
based on the accompanied SUPPLEMENTS by Suzanne Haïk-Vantoura
(Editions Choudens, Paris), but have been retuned to the key of E (and
put in just tuning) by John Wheeler. One file at this writing (Psalm 46)
has been arranged by John Wheeler as well.
All the
files at this writing save Psalms 46, 121, 122, and 133 were created by
Susan Owen as piano parts with a consistent tempo and no dynamics.
Little by little, we hope to rearrange these files. For consistency, all
arrangements assume E as the tonic. In addition (unlike most if not all
the commercial recordings), all the following recordings have been
rendered in just tuning.
N.B.: These files have been derived from
copyrighted material and are included as part of the academic data

have disabled the right-click functionality in Internet Explorer in
order to protect the files from further unauthorized distribution. While
we wish that everyone could download and use these files freely, we are
